After years of searching, we've finally found the monitoring camera we've been waiting for. Dropcam ($149) is an amazingly simple Wi-Fi video cam that lets you keep tabs on your home, business, or family from literally anywhere. Its dead-simple setup took us no more than two minutes for each camera — we were watching live footage in the time it would take us to even open another camera's packaging. You can watch your camera(s) live in your web browser or in the Dropcam app for iPhone or Android. Dropcam, which uses your Wi-Fi network to stream the video, has just the right amount of features without weighing you down with learning a bunch of useless settings — 720p HD video recording, automatic night vision, and support for multiple cameras. One of the best features is the ability to yell at your kids or cats with the two-way audio. You can even make your Dropcam viewable to the public, and follow other public Dropcams (Puppycam!).

Have you ever wondered how dirty your phone is? It is worse than you think. A little over a year ago my cousin, Wes, and I were watching TV when we saw a report stating that our phones have 18 times more harmful bacteria than the handle on a male public toilet. The 15-amp RoboReel comes with a user-replaceable 50-foot (15.24-meter) 12-gauge electrical cord and can be set on any flat surface, or hung on a wall or ceiling using optional mounts. It will begin winding that cord in at high speed, with the touch of either of two buttons – one is located on the uptake device itself, and one is on the three-appliance outlet at the end of the cord. Opening the case by unscrewing the ribbed cover reveals the time setting buttons, the battery and the tubes. The rear of the case is gently contoured for comfort in all-day use. An O-ring seal keeps out water, dust and dirt. The strap is a standard 20mm size, available at any fine jeweler.
